Recently, Dr. Lam upgraded his laser hair removal machine from the Soprano to the Soprano XL. At the time of purchase, the Soprano was one of the best laser devices for laser hair removal, safely treating all skin types for hair removal. However, he invested significant funds to trade in his laser to now offer the Soprano XL, which offers faster, safer, more effective, and more comfortable laser hair removal.

The new Accent XL provides non-invasive skin tightening and fat reduction for body contouring without surgery using the latest bipolar radiofrequency waves. This treatment can help with loose skin under the arms, under the neck, on the body and extra fat deposits in these areas as well. While not a substitute for liposuction, the Accent XL provides skin tightening that even liposuction cannot achieve. For mild to moderate skin and fat problems, the Accent XL can be a beneficial treatment alone or after liposuction or excessive weight loss. Dr. Lam even uses it to further tighten facial tissues following facial procedures.

Mesotherapy can be a wonderful adjunct to the Accent XL or can be used as a standalone treatment for excess fatty deposits and/or loose skin. Mesotherapy relies on a 50 plus year technology from Europe in which microdeposits of bio-active products are infused under the skin to improve skin texture and tone and to reduce local fatty excesses.

The Rhytec Portrait plasma skin resurfacing is truly a revolution in both non-ablative (no downtime) and ablative (skin falls away and new skin forms over a week) skin treatments. Adjusting the setting of the device can offer minimal downtime to a week downtime, all without any discomfort. For the higher intensity treatments, Dr. Lam performs the procedure himself while you are under intravenous sedation (for your comfort). For the low intensity treatments, Dr. Lam’s medical staff performs the procedure with only light topical anesthetic creams, as the procedure is not uncomfortable. Plasma technology relies on exciting the bio-inert gas, nitrogen, with ultra high frequency energy to achieve the desired results.

Fractionated technology, like Pixel and Fraxel, offers limited downtime by only “ablating” or removing tiny holes in the skin that is only visible under magnification. These holes heal within a day or so and require only 1 to 3 days of downtime. The skin however stays entirely intact except for these micropunctures. Fractionated technology provides some of the benefits of ablative treatments while maintaining a much shorter recovery time like non-ablative methods.

Fotofacials (photofacials) rely on both lasers and broadband light to target certain unfavorable colors in one’s aging and sun-damaged skin, e.g., red and brown. Using multiple fotofacial devices, Dr. Lam’s team of experts can help control and reverse broken capillaries and sun spots but must be repeated as hormone and ongoing sun exposure limit the longevity of these treatments.
