 After a month long radio promotion on Mix 102.9 in May 2005, the search for a winner of the Ultimate Makeover Contest – the first of its kind in Dallas, Texas, and co-sponsored by the Willow Bend Wellness Center – was finally over. Cassie Latham from Crowley, Texas, was crowned the winner to receive a life-changing transformation with facial plastic surgery by Dr. Samuel Lam, dental work by Dr. Wayne Ku, hair and makeup by José Eber, skin care, and a complete wardrobe from Saks Fifth Avenue.
 Cassie began her adventure in early June when Dr. Lam completed the first phase in her transformation, including a minimal-incision browlift, cosmetic upper-eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, lip enhancement, and liposuction of the neck. Dr. Lam declares, “I was thrilled when Cassie won. I am ecstatic that I could make a difference in her life. My goal was to help her in subtle but dramatic ways while preserving her identity and maintaining an absolutely natural result. I think a little bit here and a little bit there adds up to a lot.”
The following week, Cassie was ushered to the offices of Dr. Bradley Dean, a periodontist, who reduced her gums using advanced Erbium:Glass laser technology. She was then given the complete dental makeover by Dr. Ku of Plano Dental Excellence. Dr. Ku’s work involved endodontic (root canal) treatment, empress all ceramic porcelain crowns and bridges, maxillary teeth recontouring, replacement of her missing teeth, bite restoration, and Zoom teeth whitening.
 Her dull and lifeless locks were transformed by the master himself, José Eber, with advanced French styling and coloring at the José Eber Atelier. Cassie also underwent comprehensive skin therapies and spa treatments. To complete her makeover, Cassie received over a $6000 wardrobe from Saks Fifth Avenue at the Shops at Willow Bend.
On July 21, 2005, the Ultimate Makeover Contest Gala was held at the Willow Bend Wellness Center to sponsor the Turning Point Rape Crisis Center and to reveal Cassie’s new look. She pulled up to the event wearing a new Dolce & Gabbana couture dress and riding in a sleek new Jaguar from Millenium Jaguar. The gala was featured in Modern Luxury Dallas, and every step of Cassie’s journey was documented by Suzanne Sena from CBS News (watch the video). The adventure may be over, but Cassie now has a lifelong journey ahead of her, buoyed by new confidence and optimism.
