I oftentimes repeat some of the salient points of the instruction sheet to my patients many times because it is hard for them to remember what I told them and even what they have read. The video medium is unparalleled in helping to enhance communication and retention of communicated information. I will continue to repeat postoperative instructions numerous times as I believe that you cannot repeat information sufficiently to ensure that someone remembers it. Also, in anticipation of your procedure, you may also review these videos to reinforce the proposed postoperative course that you may undergo. Although these short videos are not intended as a substitute for the thorough postoperative instruction sheets and in-office and by-phone consultations with me and my staff, I believe that this video companion series can provide very strong reinforcement of important information that you need to know following your procedure.
