This woman wanted lip enhancement and underwent Gore-Tex implants to her lips. She was then trying to chase an asymmetric upper lip (this is why I tell you not to chase symmetry but follow balance and shape) by undergoing fat grafting and various other injectable fillers. Unbeknownst to her and her treating physicians, her lip continued to look worse and worse. Neither party could see that the lip did not look right or how it did not look right. THEY WERE FOCUSED ON SYMMETRY. Please! Balance between the upper and lower lips and lack of shape defined the problem at hand. She underwent a trapezoidal upper lip reduction to reduce size and return shape to her upper lip while also removing the Gore-Tex strands that were hard and shrunken. Believe me Gore-Tex in the lips along with any other solid implants no matter what kind are terrible in almost every situation. She now looks more proportionate and natural. Also, by exposing the upper teeth again, she looks more natural and also more youthful. As we age, we lose upper teeth exposure.
