Lower Face & Neck Rejuvenation Photo Gallery
Dr Lam's neck rejuvenation photos include both neck lipocontouring and facelift. Neck lipocontouring is more appropriate for an individual younger than 40 years of age who has excessive neck fullness. As we get older, the skin becomes more lax and the hanging muscles more pronounced so neck liposuction is not as safe thereafter. Liposuction itself does not work perfectly, and Dr. Lam prefers to actually contour the neck shape by outlining areas of excessive fat pockets. A consult will help you understand his technique better. A facelift only lifts the jawline and neck, as Dr. Lam does not believe in cheek (midface) or browlifts anymore. His technique is entirely vertical to avoid the windswept-back look and involves short incisions without any hair loss. The long incisions that extended into the temporal area in front of the ear or down the neck behind the ear left telltale signs of previous surgery. In fact, Dr. Lam frequently performs corrective hair transplantation in women and men who have had this type of facelift. He oftentimes combines facial fat transfer with a facelift to provide optimal rejuvenation. The jawline in particular becomes bony around the chin, especially near the mouth so he believes that just pulling the face tighter over the bony chin can actually age you further. By selectively filling the anterior chin with fat transfer and by lifting the jowl and the neck, he can provide the most balanced lower face rejuvenation that a facelift in isolation cannot. These concepts are very hard to convey without a consultation with Dr. Lam, which is an essential step to understanding the full breadth of his philosophy and technique when it comes to lower face and neck rejuvenation.
