Acne Scarring Correction Photos:
Dr. Lam is a world expert on treating acne scarring with a great percentage of his patients flying in from across the United States for his correction. Dr. Lam recognizes the social impact that acne scarring plays on one's self-esteem and is sensitive to his patient base about this difficult condition. He achieves remarkable results but always tempered with the very real problem that he NEVER achieves complete resolution of acne scarring. He can only improve the condition but not eliminate it. That is something that you must fully realize before starting any treatment with Dr. Lam. As you might know, he has the exact opposite philosophy of most physicians out there who believe that one must sand down the good skin to the level of the bad skin, whereas Dr. Lam raises the bad skin to the level of the good skin using either silicone microdroplets or 100% TCA CROSS treatments. Fat transfer can also improve large areas of volume loss and hopefully help improve the texture of the skin. However, it is insufficient by itself to do the job well enough. In addition, he does not believe that fat transfer into specific parts of the face is a safe method of treatment since transferred fat is a live graft and can grow and change volume over time. Therefore, if he uses fat for acne scarring it is always in a uniform, symmetric fashion with silicone used as the principal agent to target zones of deficiency. Plasma skin resurfacing overall can help texture but is insufficient in Dr. Lam's opinion as a standalone treatment to get the desired results.
