The following patient had a burn at 8 months of age when she bit on a power cord and caused injury to the oral commissure of her mouth (the outer corner of her lip). Correction of the loss of volume was undertaken with serial silicone injections and the limited rounded and restricted nature of the commissure was taken care of with a double z-plasty rotation flap to help her open her mouth and make her smiling, eating, and talking now normal. The commissure now assumes a natural sharp point that is slightly upturned from the previously distorted, round configuration. Watch her video testimonial.
