| Sensuous, full lips are a hallmark of alluring beauty. Many techniques exist to create or re-establish thin, attenuated lips, but very few methods prove to be safe and effective. As the lips are one of the most mobile and expressive regions of the face, only select materials should be used to enhance lip fullness without risking an unnatural appearance, infection, extrusion, or other deformities. After a consultation with Dr. Lam, you will come to realize what method is optimal for your aesthetic goals. Dr. Lam believes that creation of beautiful lips requires two specific skills on the part of the surgeon: 1) a sense of balance and proportion between the upper and lower lips (oftentimes, the upper lip is enlarged too much in relationship to the lower lip) 2) the skill to sculpt a natural-looking lip (Dr. Lam recreates the natural contour and shape of each lip rather than a uniformly inflated "sausage"-appearing lip that always looks unnatural). Dr. Lam is also very skilled at correcting lips that have been poorly augmented. Although he may not be able to correct badly created lips in every case, he will be able to inform you as to the chance of success in your case.
