This 49-year-old woman is shown before and three months after removing three moles on her face. She is ecstatic with the results where you cannot see the incision lines but she does have a little bit of residual discoloration left. Dr. Lam’s technique for removal involves a multi-layer closure using dissolvable sutures to help minimize the risk of an inverted, depressed incision and he also uses dilute Botox to help with making the scar very difficult to see very quickly.

The incision was not made in the hairline but lower down due to the void of volume left behind the cyst (unlike an osteoma removal which can be approached from the hairline). Despite this fact and the difficulty of camouflaging an incision in a dark-skinned patient, it is near impossible to find the incision even close up due to a multi-layered closure and perioperative MesoBotox injections.
